Let's get some shoes.

I got shoes todayyyy!!!  Here is a link to them.  Super casual, but I couldn't be happier with them.

There's not a whole lot to update since last month, but I did spend an amazing day with Kirimi, Emily, Charlotte, and Dawn (Kirimi and Emily's mom) in Seattle a few weeks ago.  We started off the day with a trip to La Belle Elaines, and Miss C tried on some flower girl dresses.  The salon was packed, but all eyes were on here, even with the beautiful brides walking around.  She looked amazing in everything and we got some good ideas for her.  The salesperson put a veil on her...we were like oh god don't get her heart set on a veil...she's not wearing a veil.  We tried to distract her with silly little flowers (that cost like 300 dollars) or something we could substitute with a cheaper, Claire's version.  She then spotted the tiaras.  Obviously we are going to have to find a tiara for her to wear because she was such a little diva with it on!  Then I tried on the sample dress for the girls (my actual dress still isn't in).  Dawn cried and it was adorable.  I tried on some veils myself, and we decided a long veil looks best with the dress.  So that is probably what I will go with, but not choose for sure until I actually see it with my real dress and sash and all that.

After our wedding dress experience we went to lunch at Wild Ginger (YUM) and then went shopping for lingerie!!!!  Dawn is the best mom ever, she told me she wanted to buy me something nice for my wedding night.  I just love her so much.  She is always thinking of me and making sure I have an amazing once in a lifetime experience.  We found the cutest stuff and I am soooo excited to wear it!

Anyway, since then I have been working on finding pictures of purple flowers for the girl doing my flowers. And I'm hoping you guys got your save-the-dates!  Em whipped those up one night while we were drinking...it cost like 20 bucks to print 150 of them.  LOVE HER!

Check Check!

Well, today was a very productive one for the Rasmussen-Aydel wedding!  Or is it Aydel-Rasmussen?  Hmm...

Ty got home from work around 12:40 and I had him in the car by 1:00 and headed to Starbucks in Issaquah to meet with Dwight.  Dwight is one of the Supervisors I work with at Costco (you know, the ones with the red vests?) and he also used to be a pastor!  I knew Dwight was an awesome dude before I knew he could get people hitched.  I was praying and praying that Ty would like him, and he did!  So we are going with him!  We have 4 pre-marital "meetings" with him to plan the ceremony exactly how we want it, and to learn about how to make our marriage as successful as possible.

After that we dashed on over to a Starbucks in Bellevue to meet with Dan from Emerald City Productions.  We were early so we waited in the lot and Ty napped.  A drop dead gorgeous shiny red Lotus parked next to us and I stared at it for a few minutes and then we went in.... Oh, weird the guy we were meeting was the guy who got out of the Lotus.... you think his DJ business does well?  We loved him too.  He actually lives on the ridge (where the wedding is) and has done dozens of weddings at our exact location and has worked closely with the staff there many times.  He showed us pictures of lighting options that I fell in love with.  He can make the whole room any shade of purple that I want.  And we are getting our initials monogrammed in light on the dance floor.  SO EXCITED!  I would be happy with just that, but he does music too!  We can access our playlist online and put songs on there we definitely want played and definitely do not want played.  http://emeraldcityproductions.net/  Even better, check out their facebook to see some of their lighting options.  Emerald City Productions LLC

So I just got done emailing those two, letting them know that they are on board the crazy train that this wedding is sure to be!  Ty has been passed out in bed for over an hour.  I think I tired the poor guy out!  He is such a good groom!  No complaints about being a part of the planning, and spending half a day at a time doing wedding stuff.  Now I just need to get him working on groomsmen attire (and his own attire mind you).

Next wedding stuff on the agenda is our menu and timeline planning with Nelliena on the 26th, as well as engagement pictures (finally).  Some small tidbits for some of my ladies:

Em: Did you get my facebook message?  I am so excited to get these save the dates out!  I am wondering if you think 4x6 is a good, doable size, and if you think it will work to just put some pretty writing over a picture and print it out just like it's a normal 4x6 pic.  If so, I am gonna buy envelopes and stamps and start addressing them.  Are you coming home any time soon?  I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!

Kirimi/Charlotte: I'm wondering if maybe we could find some time to hit up a couple of stores while you are in town this weekend to check out some flower girl dresses.  How the heck do you figure out what size she's gonna be in 6 months?  I guess people who work at these places know what to do.  Maybe we could go to the place I got my dress and look (and maybe check out my dress while we're there), as well as David's bridal because I know I saw one there that I liked.

Trish: Just wanted to say I had so much fun with you while you were in town, and thanks for sending me that amazing list of websites to check out.  I love the sash idea for the bridesmaids, but I'm wondering if it's something I could ask Lauren to help me make.

Lauren: See Trish's comment.  How easy was it to make those sashes for your bridesmaids dresses?  I wonder how much it cost?  The cheapest Trish found at Davids' bridal was 15 per sash, and I really don't want you guys spending any more money than necessary, since the dresses were so much.

Alrighty you guys that's pretty much it!  Here is a link to my under construction wedding website that I want to put on our save the dates/invitations.  Let me know what you think!

March Madness

Happy March you guys!  Today marks exactly 200 days until the wedding.  That seems super far away, but our engagement is almost half over!

We signed our photographer, and have engagement pictures scheduled for the end of the month.  They were originally going to be last month, but I got a gigantic stye and had to cancel.  I'm currently setting up an appointment to meet with a DJ who Trish recommended to me.  Emerald City Productions.  I'm hoping to take care of that this month.

Our guest list is FINALLY done (we think).  I am about half way done with gathering addresses, but it's the easy half that is done.  Facebook made that a piece of cake.  People who aren't on facebook will be a little trickier for me.  Hopefully Kandi will be able to be a big help for that half of the list.

So save the dates will hopefully be able to go out mid-april, if Emily and I are totally on top of it.  I am stubborn and insist upon using a picture for it.  I feel like its so much more personal that way.

We have another meeting with Nelliena (our wedding coordinator with the club) at the end of the month.  We will be discussing the menu, and timeline of the event.  I will let you guys know how that goes!

Ty has been such a good sport going over the guest list, and dealing with the engagement picture rescheduling.  We went to our first wedding last weekend since we've been engaged and had a great time.  I got some fun ideas of what I like and don't like.  We are so excited that the wedding is getting closer!

Happy New Year!!

Sorry, the holidays have been hectic and my focus has not been on this blog!  I will be better :)

As you guys know, I picked out the bridesmaids dresses and I think almost all of you have already taken care of it!  I hope you guys don't need too many alterations or anything, and be on the look out for cute purple shoes.  I'm thinking I want two or three different styles for you guys to choose from, but from the same brand or whatever so that they are exactly the same color and material.  But I don't really care, you guys can wear vans if you want...that's probably what I'm gonna wear.  :)

I picked out my dress and got my measurements sent in to the designer and it should be ready for my first round of alterations in April.  So excited!  It has pockets!  Just like your dresses do!!

Ty asked Gregory and his mom Kim if he'd be willing to be our ringbearer.  She said yes!  So now we have our flower girl and ringbearer all picked out.  I also have an officiant in mind, one of my coworkers used to be a minister and he's really awesome.  We will hopefully be meeting with him soon for an interview.

We had our first major meeting with our wedding planner earlier this month and we covered floor plan, wedding party, and other stuff that got Ty really excited...haha.  He actually admitted to enjoying the meeting, and it got us really excited to work on everything.  Before our January 22nd tasting we are supposed to have chosen our photographer, DJ, my makeup and hair girls, and officiant.  We haven't really worked on that much, except for I met the girl who is doing Trish's makeup and really liked her so I'll probably go with her.

We are going to have to book our rooms for the bachelorette party asap so let us know if you guys will be able to go.  I think Kylie and Kandi are going to be working on that.  I hope you guys can make it!  I know it will be hard for you out-of-state girls, but I understand if you can't make it work.

K, well not much more to update you guys with for now, but I'll get back on here asap.

It's official!

We signed our contract and Ernie put down the deposit!  Can't wait to work with Nelliena (our coordinator).  She is awesome and has already given me homework to do before our next meeting.  First she told me to register for Martha Stewart.com, which I love!!  So many cute ideas.  If you guys haven't checked it out, you definitely should!  My other homework is to get a dress this month.  Unfortunately that means no dress shopping with my December visitors, but Nelliena said to get it done now and I trust her!  If anyone wants to go this month, let me know!  I'm still leaning towards getting that one at La Belle Elaine, but I do kinda wanna go to All That Shimmers in Tacoma, to compare prices if nothing else.

Lauren has joined the list of engaged ladies in this group!  Patrick popped the question on Friday at Lauren's family cabin in Grapeview.  He did a good job of convincing her over the past few months that they should probably wait a few more years before they get married, so she didn't see it coming.  Congrats to Lauren and Patrick!

At this rate, you'll all be married by my wedding!  Well, hopefully not all. :)

Venue: CHECK!

It's official, we have decided that we are going with the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course for the wedding! Both the ceremony and reception will be held on Friday, September 23rd, 2011!  I can't believe it, I finally have a date!  We go in to sign the papers and put down our deposit on Saturday and I am SO excited!  Now that I have this out of the way, I am totally in planning mode.  I can't wait to search for the perfect florist, DJ, officiant, etc.  I'm super bummed that Tricia (Kirimi and Emily's cousin) can't do the photography.  It will definitely be hard to find someone I like even half as much as her.

Trish will be in town starting December 18th for a whole month, and it looks like that is the weekend that Claire will be able to get up here too!  I am going to schedule a couple of dress appointments for that following Sunday for all who are interested in tagging along.  After Claire goes back home, I will be focusing most of the rest of the month on Trish's wedding (in case you didn't know I'm her maid of honor too!).  Trish and I realized the other day that she will officially be my "Matron of honor" since she will technically be married at the time of my wedding.  I laughed b/c she is younger than me, and that hardly seems like an appropriate term to describe her, but I am SO going for it :)  Now people will stop saying "wait you have TWO maids of honor??  That's unheard of!!!"  Actually, one's a matron!  Haha

Ty and I found an apartment and we will be moving in December 1st if all goes well.  I'm very excited to finally be living with the kid, even though it will make my commute to work a little longer....it's in Buckley.  That's right, I'm gonna be that token redneck friend that you always wanted but never could find in Sammamish.  All are invited to the Logger's Rodeo next summer...ooooh bachelorette party idea!!!!  Haha.  But really though, I can't wait to start our own little household together.  Hopefully I'll be able to stop all my annoying habits by then, like throwing my clothes everywhere.  That probably won't fly.

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure you all save that date NOW!  9/23/11!  Don't forget and be early! :)

This Could Be It!

Today we toured the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club.

http://www.tpcsr.com/club/scripts/section/section.asp?NS=PWE

It wasn't quite as glamorous as the Newcastle Club, but her estimate was HALF the price!  AND Nelliena (the wedding coordinator) designs everything around the bride.  So basically we tell her how much we want to spend and she works around it.  There are a bunch of other cool things about it.  The ceremony can be inside or outside and you don't have to decide which until 3 hours before start time.  This is awesome since September weather can be beautiful or horrendous in this lovely green state.  The view is awesome from both outside and inside.  I'm a big fan of Nelliena.  She really seems to love working there, and she has a TON of experience.  I really think we are going to go with this venue.  We have a one week hold on our date (Friday Sept 23rd) until we can get Ty up to see it, and hopefully Kandi too.  The food and beverage minimum is 6000 dollars less to have it on a Friday, meaning we will have a lot more flexibility in where we spend our money.  A sell point for Ty...there's a possibility that we can bring in our own beer.  She said it had never been done before, but she could ask management if it's possible.  People have brought in their own wine before, but never beer.  Well, not everyone works for a budweiser distributor do they?  Haha.  I will keep you guys posted on everything as we make our decisions.  If we decide on this place that will be a huge load off and my next major feat will be the dress.
